Preliminary conceptual design for the RIVERE Ecological Center at the proposed project site - the historic Embrey Power Station on Caroline Street in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The Future RIVERE Ecological Center

The RIVERE Ecological Center will be a coworking hub for people who care deeply about the Rappahannock River and the communities it sustains. RIVERE will be more than a building. It will be an immersive and creative hub designed in form and function to greatly enhance stewardship of the Rappahannock.

As a shared space for ecological innovation, watershed research, environmental education, and public engagement, RIVERE will bring partners together to explore ideas, spark new connections, and cultivate stewardship. We don’t replace the work others are doing. We strengthen it by giving that work a place to grow, deepen, and engage more people. Highlights of what will be offered at the RIVERE Center are provided below. More details can be found in the RIVERE business plan.
